Gabannini · Since 1913

Our Story

From a child's wonder to over a century of artisan beekeeping — the story of Gabannini is one of passion, patience, and pure Italian honey.

1913 Founded

It started with a boy and a bee

In the early 1900s, in the green hills surrounding Urbino in the Marche region, a young boy named Marino became enchanted by a bee. Curious and captivated, he placed one in a small box just to watch it work — and in that simple act of wonder, a lifelong passion was born.

Marino's fascination grew into expertise, and his small experiment into a full apiary. He learned the rhythms of the bees, the seasons of the flowers, and the art of harvesting honey without hurrying what nature takes its time to make. By 1913, the Gabannini apiary was established — and the family tradition had truly begun.

Today, more than a century later, we continue in Marino's footsteps. The same hills, the same flowers, the same patient approach. What has changed is only the care we bring to sharing our honey with the world.

"Every jar holds a season, a landscape, and a story that began in 1913."
Our Journey

A century of milestones

1913

The First Apiary

Marino Gabannini establishes the first apiary in the hills of Urbino, driven by childhood curiosity and a passion for bees.

Wellness & Cosmetics

The range expands beyond honey to include natural wellness products, propolis, pollen, royal jelly, and bee-based cosmetics.

Today

Pure. Artisan. Italian.

Three generations later, Gabannini remains proudly family-run — committed to the same values of purity, patience, and craft.

Our three pillars

Every decision we make — how we keep our bees, how we harvest, how we create our products — comes back to these three values.

🌿

No Chemical Additives

We use only natural BIO essential oils to flavour our products. No preservatives, no artificial ingredients — ever. What goes in is exactly what the bees made and what nature grew.

⏳

Slow Harvesting

We never rush the bees. Honey is harvested in its own time, at the peak of each season, when the nectar is at its purest. Speed is the enemy of quality — and quality is all we care about.

🏡

Family & Place

We are a family business rooted in Urbino, Marche. Our bees know these hills, these flowers, this air — giving Gabannini honey a sense of place you can taste in every jar.

The bees behind the honey

Our apiaries are spread across the hills and valleys around Urbino, in the heart of the Marche region. Each location is chosen carefully — for the variety of wildflowers, the absence of industrial agriculture, and the richness of the local flora.

🌸

Flower diversity

Our bees forage among acacia, chestnut, wildflowers, sunflowers, and orange blossom — giving each honey its unique character and depth.

🌍

Untouched landscapes

We position our hives away from roads, industry, and treated fields — so the honey is as clean and pure as the land it comes from.

🍯

Seasonal harvesting

Each variety is harvested once a year at its peak season — which is why every jar of Gabannini honey has a depth and complexity you can truly taste.
